How do we know God's righteousness is the basis of salvation?

Answered in 1 source

God's righteousness undergirds salvation as it is fulfilled through Jesus Christ, who meets the demands of the law on our behalf.

The concept of God's righteousness as the basis for salvation is woven throughout Scripture. Psalm 71 highlights that David seeks deliverance based on God's righteousness. This is further expounded in the New Testament where we see that the righteousness which is necessary for salvation is provided through Jesus Christ. He fulfilled the law perfectly, satisfying divine justice on behalf of sinners. Thus, faith in Him, as both Lord and Savior, is the only means through which we can stand justified before God, having our sins not imputed to us.
