How do we know God's sovereignty is truly established in authorities?

Answered in 1 source

God's sovereignty is revealed in Scripture, showing He establishes authorities for the good of His people.

God's sovereignty over human authorities is a central theme in Scripture. In 1 Peter 2:14, it is stated that governors are sent by Him for the punishment of evildoers and the praise of those who do well. This indicates that, irrespective of the human character of leaders, God ordains their roles for His purpose. Romans 13 also reinforces this concept by affirming that all authorities are instituted by God. Hence, recognizing their authority equates to acknowledging God’s sovereign plan, which ultimately brings about justice and order in society. This perspective encourages believers to trust in God's overarching control, even when earthly authorities fail.
