How do we know God's sovereignty relates to human sin?

Answered in 1 source

God's sovereignty encompasses all events, including human sin, yet He is not the author of sin (Acts 2:23-24).

The doctrine of God's sovereignty is crucial in understanding human sin. While God is sovereign and foreordains all actions, including the actions of sinful men, He cannot be charged with sin. Acts 2:23-24 illustrates this paradox: while sinful men crucified Jesus, their actions were providentially ordained by God for a greater good. God's eternal plan uses the voluntary sinful actions of men to achieve His divine purposes without implicating Him in sin. Thus, we can embrace God's sovereignty while maintaining that He does not tempt or provoke sin.
