How do we know God's will is important for Christians?

Answered in 2 sources

Understanding and submitting to God's will is essential for a Christian's spiritual growth and obedience.

God's will is integral to the Christian life, as we see in Romans 12:2, where Paul instructs believers not to conform to this world but to be transformed by the renewing of their minds to discern what is good, acceptable, and perfect—this is the will of God. Acknowledging God's will allows Christians to live in accordance with His truths and commandments, promoting spiritual growth and understanding of our role in God's plan. When we pray for God's will to be done, we seek to submit ourselves to His sovereignty, embodying a spirit of humility and obedience, reflecting Christ's own submission in the Garden of Gethsemane (Matthew 26:39).
