How do we know God's Word is sweet to the hungry soul?

Answered in 1 source

When a person's soul is hungry for righteousness, God's Word becomes a source of joy and refreshment, as illustrated in Proverbs 16:24.

In Proverbs 16:24, we see that pleasant words are as a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and health to the bones. This sweetness is particularly evident for those who are spiritually hungry and thirsting for righteousness. When God opens a person’s eyes to their need for Him, they begin to crave the nourishment that comes from His Word. The sweetness of God’s Word contrasts starkly with the bitterness of a hardened heart, which fails to seek after divine truths. For the believer, the understanding and acceptance of God’s mercy through scripture turns even the challenging truths into sources of comfort and hope.
