How do we know God speaks to us today?

Answered in 2 sources

God speaks to believers today primarily through His Word and the preaching of the gospel.

God communicates with His people through His Word, the Scriptures, and the preaching of the gospel. In Revelation, John demonstrates this by turning to see the voice that spoke to him, which signifies the importance of being attentive to God’s communication. The Bible teaches in Romans 10:17 that 'faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.' Thus, when the gospel is preached, and the Word is read and applied, God is actively speaking to His people. Moreover, the Holy Spirit works within believers, prompting understanding and conviction of God's truths, confirming that He is still speaking to His church today.
