How do we know God uses small things for His glory?

Answered in 2 sources

The Bible illustrates that God uses small and humble instruments to accomplish great works, showing His power and sovereignty.

Throughout Scripture, we see consistent evidence that God uses humble and ordinary things to manifest His glory. For example, He used a shepherd’s staff to deliver a nation from slavery and a sling and stone to defeat Goliath, illustrating His ability to work through seemingly insignificant means to achieve His purposes. This pattern reveals that God delights in turning the expectations of the world upside down; He often chooses the weak to shame the strong and the foolish to confound the wise (1 Corinthians 1:27).

Furthermore, the life of Jesus exemplifies this truth, as He spent much of His ministry with those considered lowly, teaching profound truths about the Kingdom of God. Jesus' selection of humble fishermen as His apostles demonstrates His commitment to using ordinary people to spread the Gospel. Thus, through these examples, we can confidently affirm that God indeed uses small things for His glory, revealing His power is not confined to human standards of strength and success, but rather shines brightest in our weakness.
