How do we know God wants us to trust Him and not be afraid?

Answered in 1 source

God assures us through scripture that He is always present and will provide for our needs, thus encouraging us to trust Him.

God repeatedly tells us to 'fear not' throughout scripture, indicating that fear and faith cannot coexist. Believers are reminded that faith honors God while fear questions Him. For example, in Isaiah 43:1-5, God outlines several reasons for His people not to fear, emphasizing that He has redeemed them, called them by name, and will always be with them through trials. Knowing that God loves and cares for us provides a firm foundation upon which we can build our faith and trust.
