How do we know God will be gracious?

Answered in 1 source

God's grace is assured by His promises in Scripture, where He declares His intent to show mercy to His people.

The assurance of God's grace comes from His unchanging nature and the promises made in Scripture. Isaiah 30:18 states, 'Therefore will the Lord wait, that He may be gracious unto you,' reflecting God's patient character and His desire to exhibit mercy at the appointed time. This idea is echoed throughout Scripture, where God's readiness to forgive and offer grace is continually affirmed. God's willingness to be gracious is ultimately revealed through Christ, as His death and resurrection fulfill the promise of salvation for His chosen people.
