How do we know God will have mercy on sinners?

Answered in 1 source

We know God will have mercy because His Son manifested that mercy during His earthly ministry.

The mercy of God toward sinners is clearly demonstrated through the life and ministry of Jesus Christ. The preacher notes that no one comes to understand God apart from acknowledging the work of Christ. As stated in John 14:7, knowing the Son allows one to know the Father: 'If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also.' Jesus exhibited the mercy and grace of God by healing, forgiving, and seeking out the lost. Therefore, we can trust in God's mercy not only through Scripture but also through the incarnate actions of Christ, who came to seek and save the lost (Luke 19:10).
