How do we know God will sustain us during trials?

Answered in 1 source

God's faithfulness in sustaining His people is demonstrated throughout Scripture, as seen in His provision for Israel in the wilderness.

We can know that God will sustain us during trials by reflecting on His faithfulness throughout history, particularly in the experiences of His chosen people. Just as He sustained Israel for forty years in the wilderness, providing manna, water, and guidance, God promises similarly to sustain His people today. The assurance found in God’s promises, seen in scriptures such as Romans 10:6-8, echoes that the help we need is always near and accessible through faith in Christ.

More importantly, Christ, who bore all our burdens and sorrows, has made a way for believers to trust in His sustaining grace. Our trials serve to draw us closer to Christ, reminding us that apart from Him, we cannot sustain ourselves. The Apostle Paul reassures us in Romans 8:37 that despite hardships, we are more than conquerors through Him. Thus, by resting in God's character and His past provisions, we can confidently face our trials knowing He will sustain us.
