How do we know grace is a free gift from God?

Answered in 1 source

Romans 11:6 declares that grace is free, asserting that if it is by grace, it cannot be by works.

According to Romans 11:6, grace can only be unearned and unconditional. The moment we try to earn it through works, it ceases to be grace. This teaches us that God's favor is not contingent on our actions, but rather on His sovereign choice. It reassures believers that they can fully trust in God's grace without fear of having to meet any conditions because true grace is freely given to those He has chosen.
