How do we know grace is more important than law?

Answered in 1 source

Grace is central to the Christian faith because it highlights salvation as a gift from God, not a result of our own efforts.

Grace reigns through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord, illustrating that our salvation rests solely on what Christ has done. Legalism, which suggests that law-keeping can earn righteousness, ultimately leads to spiritual death because no one can achieve the perfect compliance required by God's law. By embracing grace, we acknowledge that our justification is based on Christ's imputed righteousness rather than our own failures. This understanding transforms our relationship with God and empowers us for good works that flow out of gratitude for His grace.
