How do we know grace is not meant for everyone?

Answered in 1 source

Grace is targeted specifically, as biblical teaching shows that not all receive the same grace and that God’s elect are saved.

The concept of universal grace is a distortion of the true nature of God’s grace as portrayed in Scripture. The doctrine that God loves and seeks to save everyone fosters a misunderstanding of the nature of salvation and reinforces a false sense of security in sin. Jude points out that some men pervert grace into lasciviousness, and this reflects a deeper issue that undermines the unique and particular work of Christ. True grace is efficacious, meaning it accomplishes salvation specifically for the elect, and any teaching contrary to this diminishes the glory of God and the effectiveness of Christ’s atoning work.
