How do we know grace is superior to the law?

Answered in 2 sources

Grace is superior to the law because it brings salvation through Christ's righteousness, whereas the law demands perfection from us.

The law, exemplified by Mount Sinai, represents a system of works and demands strict obedience, but it ultimately leads to condemnation because no one can fully keep it. In contrast, grace, which came through Christ, provides a way for sinners to be accepted by God based on Christ's perfect righteousness imputed to them. Hebrews 8:6 confirms that Jesus is the mediator of a better covenant established on better promises. This covenant of grace reassures believers that their standing before God is based on Christ's finished work rather than their ability to uphold the law, which can only highlight their failures.
