How do we know hypocrisy is true?

Answered in 1 source

Hypocrisy is demonstrated when individuals claim to follow God's commandments but live contrary to them.

The truth of hypocrisy is illustrated in the teachings of Jesus, where He identifies the discrepancy between religious outward appearances and inward realities. As He points out in Matthew 15, the Pharisees were guilty of upholding traditions that undermined God's commandments. This teaches us that hypocrisy exists not just in what we say but in what we do—or fail to do. A true follower of Christ acknowledges their sin and strives to live in accordance with God's Word, rather than seeking to justify or excuse their behavior through human traditions.
