How do we know if a gospel is true?

Answered in 1 source

A true Gospel is centered on Jesus Christ and aligns with the teachings of Scripture.

To discern the truth of any gospel, we must measure it against the teachings of Jesus Christ and the entirety of Scripture. As Paul instructs in 2 Timothy 2:15, we are to study and rightly handle the word of truth. A true Gospel will define Jesus correctly, emphasizing His divine nature, His atonement, and the necessity of grace through faith. If a gospel distracts from these core tenets or promotes works-based righteousness instead of faith alone, it is another gospel that leads to spiritual deception.
