How do we know if a preacher is a true prophet?

Answered in 2 sources

A true prophet preaches the Word of God faithfully, lives according to that Word, and seeks God's glory (2 Timothy 4:2).

To identify a true prophet, one must consider their doctrine, lifestyle, and the character of their converts. A true prophet's preaching is centered on the Word of God, proclaiming the doctrines of grace, such as election and Christ's redemptive work. Furthermore, a true prophet exemplifies a life of humility, meekness, and a genuine concern for the spiritual well-being of their listeners. Their lives should reflect the fruits of the Spirit, and they should guide their followers toward an authentic relationship with Christ, confirming God's power in their ministry.
