A true prophet speaks God's word and points to Jesus Christ as the source of salvation.

To determine if a prophet is speaking for God, we must examine their message. True prophets, as described in Deuteronomy 18:15-18, will always point towards Christ and declare Him as the way to salvation. They do not encourage reliance on personal works for righteousness. Instead, they emphasize faith in Jesus and his redemptive work. This is the hallmark of authentic prophethood; they uphold the glory of Christ, making it clear that He is central to God's plan for salvation.
