One knows they are called by recognizing the internal conviction to respond to God's voice and His word.
The assurance of God's call often comes through a humble response to His Word. In 1 Samuel 3, when God called Samuel, he repeatedly responded until Eli instructed him to say, 'Speak, Lord, for your servant hears.' The realization of God's calling is rooted in hearing God's truth and recognizing it as authoritative in one’s life. This dynamic illustrates that the recognition of God's voice involves both a personal disposition to hear and the recognition that this call is initiated wholly by God, reinforcing the doctrine that God elects and calls according to His mercy alone.
