How do we know if God is guiding us?

Answered in 1 source

We can discern God's guidance through prayer, Scripture, and the peace He provides in our decisions.

Discerning God's guidance requires a multifaceted approach, primarily rooted in prayer and a humble spirit. The servant of Abraham exemplifies this, as he sought God's favor and direction through specific prayer. In his quest for a wife for Isaac, he laid out a fleece, asking God for a particular sign that would confirm the right choice (Genesis 24:14). This illustrates that while God can provide specific signs, it is essential to remain open to His sovereign will, even if the answer is different from what we expect or desire. Long-term commitment to prayer and attentiveness to Scripture also help us align our desires with God’s purposes, ensuring that we are receptive to His leading.
