How do we know if our conversion is genuine?

Answered in 2 sources

A genuine conversion is evident through the evidence of God's fingerprints in our lives, manifested in faith and righteousness.

To ascertain the genuineness of one's conversion, we can look for the fingerprints of God's grace actively at work within us. This includes a growing awareness of sin, a rejection of false hopes in friends or family (Micah 7:5), and an unwavering focus on God as our sole hope. The essence of true conversion is not merely a life decision; it signifies an inward change initiated by God that aligns our will with His, illustrating a journey of sanctification where one increasingly identifies with Christ over worldly ties. True converts bear the marks of His righteousness in their lives, a transformation that continues long after the moment of supposed conversion.
