How do we know if preaching is by the power of God?

Answered in 1 source

We recognize the power of God in preaching by the fruits it produces, not merely the eloquence of the speaker.

Paul indicates that the validity of a preacher's message can be assessed by the evidence of God’s power manifesting in the lives of people. In Matthew 7:15-20, Jesus teaches us that we can identify true prophets by their fruits. This means a preacher truly operating in God’s power will declare the truth of God's election, regeneration, and the total sovereignty of God over salvation, which inevitably produces good fruit in the lives of believers. Hence, the transformation, obedience, and faith exhibited by those who respond to the preaching can help us discern the true power behind it.
