How do we know if someone is an Antichrist?

Answered in 1 source

We identify Antichrists by their denial of Jesus Christ as the Son of God, as stated in 1 John 2:22.

1 John 2:22 provides a clear standard for identifying antichrists: 'Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist that denieth the Father and the Son.' This scripture explains that any teaching or preacher who denies the true nature of Christ, specifically His divinity and role as the Messiah, is acting in an antichristian manner. It's essential for Christians to discern truth through a firm understanding of Scripture, as genuine believers will confess the true Christ and will be consistent in acknowledging His rightful place in salvation. Therefore, understanding what these individuals profess about Christ is crucial in distinguishing truthful preaching from that which leads away from God.
