How do we know if someone is called to the ministry?

Answered in 1 source

A true call to ministry is evidenced by salvation, teaching from God, the message from God, and an affinity from people to hear the preacher.

To discern whether someone is called to the ministry, certain evidences are necessary. Firstly, the individual must be saved by Christ, as many attempt to enter the ministry without a genuine relationship with God. Secondly, God will teach this individual through His Word and experiences, shaping them for their role. Additionally, God provides the message they will preach, granting them the ability to rightly divide the Word of God. Lastly, there will be a specific group of people drawn to hear this individual preach, indicating God's approval and calling. A lack of these signs can suggest that a person is not truly called to the ministry.
