How do we know if someone is truly converted?

Answered in 2 sources

True conversion is evidenced by a heartfelt change in priorities, where Christ becomes the center of a person's life (Galatians 2:20).

The marks of true conversion can be seen in one's priorities and affections. A sound convert cherishes Christ above all, esteeming His righteousness as priceless and abandoning self-righteousness as worthless (Philippians 3:8). This change manifests in a desire for holiness and a rejection of sin as the believer recognizes their need for Christ in every area of life. The desires of the heart shift from worldly satisfaction to an earnest pursuit of God, leading to a transformative relationship with Him. Moreover, scripture warns that many may believe themselves converted, yet the evidence of true regeneration is the genuine affection for, and submission to, the commands of Christ.
