How do we know if someone is truly saved according to the Bible?

Answered in 1 source

True salvation is evidenced by a lasting commitment to Christ and the presence of the Holy Spirit in a believer's life.

The sermon points out that the marks of true salvation include a change of heart, a transformation evidenced by the fruit of the Spirit, and a continuous desire to seek after God. Hebrews 6:4-6 is referenced to illustrate that if someone truly experiences the Holy Spirit and then falls away, it indicates they were never truly converted. Essential to being saved is the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, which leads to a new nature and genuine faith that perseveres through trials and adversity. Those who are truly saved cannot ultimately forsake Christ because their will has been transformed to seek His glory above all else.
