How do we know if we are among the elect?

Answered in 14 sources

We can know we are among the elect by observing the fruits of faith and striving to live according to God's will as taught in 2 Peter 1:10.

According to 2 Peter 1:10, believers are encouraged to 'give diligence to make your calling and election sure.' The assurance of being among the elect is tied to the presence of godly virtues in a believer's life, such as faith, virtue, and love. This striving is not a means to earn salvation, which is solely by grace, but an evidence of genuine faith and an active response to God's call. As believers pursue holiness and bear fruit in their lives, they can have confidence in their salvation.
