How do we know if we are friends of the King?

Answered in 1 source

We can identify as friends of the King if we love pureness of heart and speak grace-filled words.

To discern if one is a friend of the King, Proverbs 22:11 indicates two characteristics: loving pureness of heart and possessing grace in one’s speech. This pure heart is not of human origin but is a work of God's grace, whereby He transforms the sinner's heart, enabling them to love what is good (Ezekiel 36:26). Moreover, those who express grace in their speech demonstrate their understanding of God’s redemptive work, recognizing that their salvation comes solely from His grace—not through works. Thus, if someone is committed to seeking purity and speaks graciously towards others, it serves as an indication of their friendship with God.
