How do we know if we are in the faith?

Answered in 1 source

We can know we are in the faith through self-examination and the presence of Christ in our lives, according to 2 Corinthians 13:5.

In 2 Corinthians 13:5, Paul challenges believers to prove their own selves to ascertain their faith and relationship with Christ. This introspection is crucial, as it reveals whether we have genuinely embraced Jesus and if His Spirit resides in us. One practical way to evaluate this is by considering our reactions to the gospel and how we perceive the power of Christ in our lives.

A believer in the faith will experience spiritual transformation, evidenced by a desire for godliness, love for others, and a yearning for deeper understanding of God’s word. The assurance of faith is rooted in the understanding that Christ's indwelling presence empowers and enables us to live in accordance with His will. If our lives exhibit these traits, it affirms that we belong to Christ; otherwise, we may be confronted with the sobering possibility of being reprobate or counterfeit.
