How do we know if we are one of God's elect?

Answered in 4 sources

We can know if we are God's elect by examining the evidences of faith and obedience in our lives as outlined in Scripture.

While we cannot look into the Lamb's Book of Life to find our names, we can identify ourselves as part of God's elect through the evidences of faith that manifest in our lives. In 1 Thessalonians 1:4-10, Peter provides seven distinguishing marks of God's elect: the reception of the gospel in power, following Christ, receiving the Word with joy despite affliction, exemplifying faith, sounding out the gospel, turning from idols, and waiting for Christ's return. These traits reflect the transformative work of God in those He has chosen, demonstrating their faithfulness and love for Christ.
