How do we know if we are savingly united to Jesus Christ?

Answered in 1 source

We can know we are in saving union with Christ by genuinely repenting of our sins and placing our faith in Him as our Savior.

To be savingly united to Jesus Christ, one must first acknowledge the reality of their sinfulness and their dire need for a Savior. This acknowledgment leads to repentance—a heartfelt turning away from sin, accompanied by faith that trusts in Christ's perfect life, atoning death, and resurrection as the sole means for forgiveness and acceptance before God. Furthermore, the evidence of this saving union is seen in a transformed life characterized by a love for God, obedience to His word, and an ongoing relationship with Christ, wherein He is the primary focus of one's affections and hopes. Those united to Christ will exhibit the fruits of the Holy Spirit in their lives.
