How do we know if we are truly following Jesus?

Answered in 1 source

We can evaluate our following of Jesus by examining our willingness to sacrifice personal comforts and desires in obedience to His call (Luke 9:62).

True discipleship involves a commitment to follow Jesus wholeheartedly, which often comes with sacrifice. As illustrated in Luke 9:62, Jesus calls attention to those who, despite their desire to follow Him, make excuses that reveal their reluctance to fully commit. True followers prioritize God's calling over earthly connections and comforts. If our lives reflect a dedication to God's purposes and a willingness to endure hardship, we can be assured that we are indeed following Christ. Furthermore, it is vital to continually examine our hearts to ensure that our allegiance to Him takes precedence over worldly concerns.
