How do we know if we have a true heart?

Answered in 1 source

We can know we have a true heart if it is taught of God and retains His words, according to Proverbs 4:4.

The sermon highlights that a true heart is one that is taught by God, as expressed in Proverbs 4:4 where it states, 'He taught me also, and said unto me, Let thine heart retain my words.' A true heart understands its own sinfulness and embraces the grace of God, looking to Christ for all wisdom and righteousness. Additionally, the assurance of having a true heart is rooted in faith and the understanding that one is called to keep God's commandments—not as burdensome laws but as a command to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation.
