How do we know if we have fellowship of the Spirit?

Answered in 1 source

We know we have fellowship of the Spirit if we perceive ourselves as sinners in need of a Savior and look to Christ for our righteousness.

To discern if one has fellowship with the Spirit, one must reflect on their understanding of their sinful nature and their reliance on Christ. A true understanding of being a 'dead dog sinner' is a work of the Holy Spirit within us; it is not something we can conjure on our own. If we recognize our innate sinfulness and acknowledge that we can do nothing to attain righteousness, we are enabled to turn toward Christ, who becomes our all in wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, and redemption. This shift in our perspective—from reliance on self to trust in Christ—is a clear evidence of the fellowship of the Spirit.
