How do we know if we have received God's Spirit?

Answered in 2 sources

The evidence of having received God's Spirit is a confession of Christ's lordship and experiencing conviction of sin.

To know whether one has received God's Spirit, one must consider the transformation in their life. According to 1 John 4:13, those who dwell in God and have God dwell in them possess His Spirit. Evidence of this can include a deep conviction of sin, as highlighted in John 16:8, where the Spirit convinces individuals of their sinfulness and their need for Christ. Additionally, a person’s testimony will shift from 'I' to acknowledging 'He' — recognizing that salvation and all good comes from Christ alone, thus glorifying Him rather than oneself.
