How do we know if we have the love of God?

We know we have the love of God if we love one another, as love is a fruit of being born of God.

According to 1 John, the presence of love in a person's life serves as evidence that they are born of God. John writes, 'Everyone that loveth is born of God and knoweth God' (1 John 4:7). This love is a supernatural characteristic produced in believers by the Holy Spirit. If we lack this love, it indicates a lack of true knowledge and relationship with God (1 John 4:8). Thus, love toward others is both a reflection and a confirmation of our identity as children of God.
