How do we know if we have true saving faith?

Answered in 5 sources

True saving faith is evidenced by a deep reliance on the word of the Lord and the ability to confess belief in Christ despite doubt or flaws.

Determining one’s true saving faith can be a challenging introspection for many believers. One of the key indicators is the acknowledgement of one's spiritual impotence, highlighted in John 6:63, which states that 'the flesh profiteth nothing.' A believer recognizes that any ability to come to God is granted by Him, thus their reliance is on God's sovereignty. Furthermore, true faith leads to the acceptance of God's declarations about salvation, such as in John 12:47-48, where rejecting His words leads to judgment. Continuous belief in these truths, despite the struggles with sin and disbelief, signifies that one possesses saving faith.
