How do we know if we truly understand the gospel?

Answered in 1 source

True understanding of the gospel is evidenced by perseverance in faith and the fruit of the Spirit in one's life.

Understanding the gospel is not merely an intellectual exercise. As shown in Mark 4, those who grasp its truth are marked by endurance and fruitfulness. Christ emphasized the necessity of continuing in His Word in John 8:31, saying, "If you continue in my word, then are you my disciples indeed." This signifies not only initial acceptance but ongoing commitment and the resulting transformation that leads to spiritual fruitfulness. Those who truly understand are those who seek understanding and remain with Christ, who will ultimately display the fruit of the Spirit in their lives.
