How do we know if we've truly been converted?

Answered in 1 source

True conversion is evidenced by a heartfelt belief in Jesus Christ as the Son of God and a recognition of our sinfulness (Acts 8:37).

To know if we've truly been converted, we must examine both our understanding of sin and our faith in Christ. Conversion is marked by an awareness of our sinfulness and the subsequent belief in Jesus as the Son of God who saves us (Acts 8:37). This belief is not merely intellectual but affects our heart and transforms our lives. The internal assurance comes from the Holy Spirit, who convinces us of our true need for salvation and empowers a genuine love for God and others. The acknowledgment that I am the chief of sinners, as Paul states, should lead us to embrace mercy through faith in Christ.
