How do we know importunate prayer is effective?

Answered in 1 source

Importunate prayer, or persistent prayer, is effective as it demonstrates our earnestness and trust in God's willingness to respond.

Importunate prayer is characterized by urgent persistence, as illustrated in the parable of the unjust judge (Luke 18). Jesus teaches that just as the persistent widow was eventually granted justice by a reluctant judge, so too will God respond to His elect who cry out to Him day and night. The effectiveness of such prayer lies not in the quantity of words used but in the depth of our faith and the sincerity of our requests (Luke 11:8). We are encouraged to continually seek God's face with the assurance that He desires to bless His people and will certainly respond to the cries of those who earnestly seek Him.
