How do we know it is okay to avoid friends who tempt us with sin?

Answered in 1 source

It is biblically sound to avoid associations that tempt us to sin in order to pursue holiness.

In the context of maintaining spiritual integrity, it is important to discern our relationships. The Apostle Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 15:33 that bad company corrupts good morals, indicating that our associations can significantly impact our faith. Therefore, if a friend engages in behaviors that are detrimental to our spiritual walk, it is appropriate to limit or end those associations. We are called to live a life that reflects our identity as children of God, which may mean distancing ourselves from those who continue in sin.
