How do we know Jesus Christ is our light?

Jesus Christ is described in John 8:12 as the Light of the world, indicating His role in illuminating the spiritual darkness of sin and death. Just as God commanded light to shine in Genesis, so too does Christ bring light to our hearts, enabling us to see and understand the truth of our own sinful condition and His saving grace. The work of the Holy Spirit in our hearts reveals Christ to us, allowing us to walk in light rather than darkness. Therefore, to acknowledge Christ as our light is to accept the transformative power of His grace in our lives.
