How do we know Jesus Christ is the merciful Savior?

Answered in 1 source

We know Jesus Christ is the merciful Savior through His redemptive work and His compassionate actions towards sinners.

Jesus embodies God's mercy as He is God's ultimate revelation to man. In the Gospels, we see how Jesus reached out to the marginalized, healed the sick, and forgave sins, demonstrating His deep compassion. In Psalm 116, the psalmist recognizes the Lord's mercy, a precursor to the fuller revelation of mercy found in Christ. Jesus came to fulfill the redemptive purpose laid out in the Scriptures, showing that through His death and resurrection, we can know we are not only forgiven but cherished by God. His mercy is evident, as Paul states, 'I obtained mercy' (1 Timothy 1:16), affirming that all who depend on Christ experience His unending compassion.
