How do we know Jesus could not be tempted?

Answered in 1 source

Jesus could not be tempted because He is incapable of desiring anything that is sinful or forbidden, as stated in James 1:13.

Scripture affirms the incapacity of God to be tempted with evil, a truth that extends to Christ because of His divine nature. As expressed in James 1:13, God Himself cannot be tempted, and since Jesus is God incarnate, this same truth applies to Him. Additionally, Jesus always did the will of His Father and possessed a human nature free from the corruption of sin. Thus, although He faced external temptations, He was not internally drawn to them as a sinful man would be. This distinction is crucial for understanding both His humanity and His ability to rescue sinners from their fallen state.
