How do we know Jesus' humanity is important for our salvation?

Answered in 1 source

Jesus' humanity is crucial because he had to be a man to atone for human sin.

The humanity of Jesus is essential for our salvation as it allows him to identify with our struggles and serve as our substitute. Hebrews 2:17 explains that it was necessary for him to be made like his brethren in order to become a merciful high priest. Jesus' experience of weariness and temptation enables him to relate to our suffering and intercede for us effectively. Without his humanity, he could not fulfill the requirements of divine justice, as he offers himself as a human sacrifice for sin.
