How do we know Jesus is a sure foundation?

Answered in 2 sources

We know Jesus is a sure foundation because He is tried, tested, and proven reliable through trials faced by Himself and the saints.

Jesus is described as a 'tried stone'—one that has withstood every challenge it faced. Throughout biblical history, instances such as David's affirmation in Psalm 18 and the faith of the New Testament saints exemplify how Christ has been a reliable foundation. He has been tried by the Scriptures, by the trials of Satan, and even by God the Father, who entrusted the salvation of His people to Him. As our substitute, He bore our sins and judgment, proving Himself a reliable and sure refuge. His unchanging nature and His work at the cross testify to this reliability, reinforcing that He is indeed the foundation on which we can depend.
