How do we know Jesus is able to help our unbelief?

Answered in 1 source

Jesus is able to help our unbelief, as He is the source of faith and life.

In Mark 9:24, the Father of the possessed boy cries out, 'Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.' This prayer reflects a dual understanding of faith and doubt that many believers experience. Jesus has the power to help our unbelief because He is not only the object of our faith but also the author and finisher of it (Hebrews 12:2). He empowers us to believe fully in His promises and to trust in His ability to save. Moreover, the acknowledgment of our unbelief, as in the father’s plea, is in itself evidence of faith, as only those who believe can express such a need for assistance.
