How do we know Jesus is our friend?

Answered in 2 sources

We know Jesus is our friend because He laid down His life for us and calls us friends if we do what He commands (John 15:13-15).

Jesus indicates that He is our friend by demonstrating love and sacrifice. In John 15:13-15, He states, 'Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.' Furthermore, He asserts that we are His friends if we do what He commands. This relationship is initiated by Christ, who first chooses us, affirming our place in His heart. It is a friendship marked by guidance, correction, and unwavering support, regardless of life's circumstances.
