How do we know Jesus is our hope in overcoming sin?

Answered in 1 source

Jesus is our hope because He has conquered sin and death, providing assurance of our redemption and victory.

The New Testament explicitly presents Jesus Christ as the fulfillment of God's promise to deliver His people from sin. This is articulated in Colossians 1:27, which states that Christ is 'the hope of glory.' Our confidence in overcoming sin is rooted in the finished work of Christ on the cross, where He dealt with sin once and for all. As believers, we look to Him, not merely our faith or experiences, for assurance of victory. His righteousness covers our sin, and through Him, we have hope for both this life and the one to come. Hence, our faith is not in what we can do but in what Christ has accomplished.
